Deepshika Prasad stands out as a NEET aspirant and academic achiever who has excelled in her class XII board exams with a remarkable 99.6% score. Originally from Patna, Bihar, she has been residing in Jaipur for the past nine years. Deepshika completed her higher secondary education at Neerja Modi School, Jaipur, where she secured a perfect 100 in Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, and an additional subject, Vocal Music.
Speaking to Education Times, Deepshika expressed her gratitude towards her parents, saying, “I owe my success entirely to them.”
Her father is a senior section engineer with Indian Railways, and her mother, who sacrificed her own dreams to support her aspirations, has been a constant pillar of strength. “I have witnessed my father working tirelessly for my younger brother and me. Though he lives away from us, he has always been my guiding light in times of need,” she says, reflecting on her father’s sacrifices.
"My friends have equally supported me throughout my journey. They have motivated me and been my emotional support in my low days," she adds.
Revealing her study strategy, Deepshika says, “I maintained a disciplined lifestyle throughout my preparation journey. I used to make a to-do list every night, planning five to six tasks for the next day, and allotting specific time durations to each activity. For instance, I would schedule an hour to read the NCERT chapter on Biotechnology, followed by another hour to solve previous year questions (PYQs) or revise key concepts. I enrolled in online coaching with Physics Wallah (PW) during class XI.”
“I deleted all my social media accounts during class XI and XII except YouTube for study resources and WhatsApp for communication with teachers and friends,” she adds.
While Biology is her favourite subject she devoted equal time to music. "I scored 100 in Vocal Music," she says, highlighting her passion for music, as she enjoys singing, listening to music, dancing, and reading novels.
Deepshika recently appeared for the NEET-UG exam, aspiring to become a doctor. “My goal is to get into a reputed government medical college, pursue MBBS, and serve society,” she adds.
Reflecting on her journey, Deepshika says, “Successful people inspired me. I always watched interviews of toppers to draw their energy, imagining being at the top – and today, that dream has come true.”
She emphasised the importance of self-belief, consistency, and mental health. “Never give up. Believe in your hard work and yourself. Avoid comparing yourself with others – your only competition is with yourself,” she adds.
