To promote multilingual learning, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has recently introduced MBA programmes in Hindi and Odia. The university has further decided to expand this offering by launching MBA programmes in 10 languages, further easing language-related barriers in higher education.
Reportedly, the initiative is part of the E-Kumbh project, and it is a collaborative effort with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) aiming at translating academic study material into 12 regional languages. The MBA programme will feature study material adapted into regional formats using AICTE’s AI-powered translation tool - Anuvadini.
This initiative supports the national effort to promote education in regional languages, ensuring that high-quality professional education is accessible beyond just the English language. The translated MBA programme will uphold the same academic rigour and evaluation standards as the English version, guaranteeing consistent learning outcomes across all languages.
Students choosing the Hindi or Odia versions of the MBA can now study in their preferred language, making it easier for them to engage with the study material. This represents a major move toward making education more inclusive and expanding access to postgraduate management programmes.
